I was brought up in rural Wales. As a boy I spent many hours fishing the River Wye or roaming the countryside watching birds and other wildlife. These early interests led me into a career in fisheries and then countryside management.
In March 2005 I escaped local government to get back in touch with nature and I have been spending a lot of my time since then photographing nature.

My CV goes something like this:
- Born Cardiff 1953
- Grew up in Mid Wales
- Studied biology in Cardiff
- 15 years in fisheries as water bailiff, fish farmer & fishery gmanager
- Post graduate course in countryside management, gBangor 1989
- 20 years in countryside management as senior ranger and head of service. I am now retired and have plenty of time to practice my passion!

I have had success at national and international salons and hold Distinctions in photography with the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS), the Welsh Photographic Federation (AWPF) and the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (DPAGB)

Gear and techniques:

Canon Digital SLR's and L lenses. I enjoy the fieldcraft in getting close to my subjects.
